WEEKEND AT THE SWAPMEET

When we were at our first swap meet a couple weekends ago, we were handed a flyer for another swap meet for this weekend at another location.   Feeling we did well at the first swap meet, we decided to take our wares and the camper to the swap meet in Shipshewana.   It is fun taking the camper & being able to get a decent nights sleep (or at least a few hours) otherwise if we just had a truck you have to TRY to get comfortable in the front or back seat, which is kind of impossible.
So off we went to Shipshewana Friday night with Von & Jenny, they just got their camper back from the repair shop and  Nick & Shelly,  they stayed with us in the truck camper.   When you get there you pick & pay for your spot, set up what you want and eventually get settled down to get some rest, cause morning comes early.   Jenny & Von got woke up by Nick & Shelly's rooster.   I did not hear a thing cause I wear earplugs.   So by the time we got out to start setting everything out, people are walking around trying to see what they can.  It sure looked like rain for a few hours but we were lucky & did not see a drop.

Here is a few pictures of the day.

After the swap meet Von & Jenny  and us went to the south campground in Shipshewana and stayed the night.  We did not go anywhere to eat mainly because we both had our vehicles still full with items that we did not sell.   Jenny had brought spaghetti and French bread.    It was a fun weekend.

Enjoy your day & keep in touch

LEARNING A NEW WAY

If you think my web sight looks different that’s because I had to call my mentor tonight and get some tips on making some changes.  You see I have been having trouble controlling the curser and making it go where I want it to go, and getting the pictures to go in place where I would like them to be.  Sometimes by the time I posted 5 or 6 pictures it would take me at least an hour to wrestle them around and make the curser behave !!  I am really having fun doing this but sometimes it truly was not fun trying to make it all go together.   So this looks like it will be more user friendly, at least that’s what my mentor (Dave) said.

It is getting closer to our tenative leave date of June 16.  This is what our truck camper looks like,  I know I have showed ya’ll before but remember I am practicing.

Well  it’s getting late and I need to sign off for now.   I know I will need to practice, practice, practice and then some.    Wish my mentor lived closer but at least he is a phone call away, and willing to help me make this venture work.  Speaking of work—only 13 more days, and I can hang up my keys to the big yellow bus!!

Keep smiling & have a good day

EXPERIENCE THE "SWAP MEET"

You haven't experienced a swap meet until you experience the animal and ANYTHING  swap meet West of Albion.    We loaded our trailer and hooked onto the truck camper and arrived at 9:30 pm on Friday night.  We got into the spot that Nick had reserved for us and them.   After getting set up we bedded down in the truck camper.  We took the large bed and the GUESTS slept on the dinette booth.  Shelly said she didn't sleep for 2 reasons.  One was I had put a nylon sleeping bag on the bed and she kept slipping and afraid she was going to be fast asleep and slide off and BOOM hit the ground, and the other reason was well cause she was worried MAGGIE which is there Blue Heeler mother to be dog, would make a mess on the floor ( or even start having her puppies--cause she is that close to giving birth ) Anyway the night was short as we got up at 5am and started putting things out.  There were plenty of shoppers already out shopping with of all things FLASHLIGHTS.   Yes I said flashlights.  I'm tellin you,  you
have not experienced life till you have went to this swap meet.  You have to start early cause it is over by 12 or 1 o'clock.  And the animals,  you would not believe.  Snakes, turtles, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, birds, chickens, cows, pigs, and animals that I didn't even know what they were !   There are also plants and a lot of anything garage sale items.
